Navy Marine Corps Relief SocietyOffice Has New Location
As of Wednesday July 21, the Navy Marine Corps Relief Society has relocated their office from the Chapel Annex to the Fleet and Family Support Center in Room 110. NMCRS will not be hosting any set office hours there. The duty caseworker can be contacted by cell phone at 540-845-1757 to schedule appointments. The new office number at the FFSC will be 540-653-2378, however contacting through the duty cell phone is preferable.

August Blood Drive
The Armed Services Blood Program will hold a blood drive on Thursday, Aug. 12 from 7 a.m. – Noon at Aegis Training and Readiness Center Auditorium, Bldg. 1520. All blood collected benefits military members and their families overseas, at home, in harm’s way and recovering from injuries. Support our troop and give the gift of life – give blood!

Free Legal Appointments in August
The Fleet and Family Support Center is now accepting appointments for free legal assistance for Aug. 19. This is a convenient opportunity for active-duty military, retired military personnel or military family members to speak with a JAG from Naval District Washington's legal assistance office regarding any legal issue to include wills.

Diversity Day Theme and Logo Contest
The commands of Naval Support Facility Dahlgren are planning a Diversity Day event for all base employees and residents. The event will be held Aug. 26 from 1000 - 1300. We are requesting your support to make this event successful.

Foods, dancers, costumes, balloons, flags, music, vendors, exhibits, arts and crafts are all welcomed to make the event festive. Volunteers will be needed in many areas.

We are also looking for a theme for our Diversity Day event that is reflective of the wealth that diversity adds to the workforce. A prize will be awarded for the winning theme and logo. All entries should be received by Friday, July 23.

If you or your colleagues have talents, historical info, books, pictures and artifacts, etc. that will educate the workforce about our varied cultures and you would like to share this information with others, if you have a theme and logo to enter, or if you'd like to volunteer, please contact Jeron Hayes by email at jeron.hayes@navy.mil.

Indian Head 120th Anniversary Celebration
Plan to attend the 120th Anniversary celebration of Naval Support Facility Indian Head on Saturday, Sept. 25 from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the Village Green in Indian Head. Event will include a live performance by the Navy Band Cruisers, games for the kids, classic car show, food and drinks for sale, and historic exhibits from the commands at Indian Head.
